“We still need to test this dose in humans, to make sure there are no adverse effects, and to see if the doses are as effective. This is burgeoning area of research. Determining the best dose for humans will be important,” said Shiwani Moghe, a researcher, Texas Woman’s University
She added, “The promise is there for blueberries to help reduce adipose tissue from forming in the body.”
You’d probably heard of blueberries being considered as “Super food”, it contains many antioxidants called polyphenols, which is known to fight cancer. Blueberries also show positive effect on metabolic syndrome or weight maintenance.
The research shows significant outcome, the samples treated with polyphenols had less fat than the control sample. Samples with largest dose of polyphenols had a huge decrease in lipid cells, approximately by 73%.
Jury said that study should consider more research, as to the effects of blueberries as fat burner
