25 Gallons of Leaked Ammonia at California Nuke Plant

“Some vital areas in the turbine building became inaccessible because of the gas leak, so they declared the alert. No one has been evacuated from the site, nobody’s been injured and nobody off the site should be affected,” said Victor Dricks, Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
According to reports, an estimated one gallon every ten minutes was leaking, leading tot he evacuation of employees at the turbine building. It is said that the leak was first detected about 3 p.m. And point out a location in a water purification system for one of the two nuclear reactors. Dricks said the leak could be converted into gas on contact with air, prompting to an alert of evacuation procedure; however, there were no reported injuries to the incident.
Apparently, the leak was in the non-nuclear section of the building, which is operated by Southern California. The good news about the incident is that no radioactive material was released and no reported hazardous materials that could inflict harm to the public
