“At any given time, we’re looking at new ideas, investigating, testing, incubating them. It’s in our DNA to develop new form factors and natural user interfaces to foster productivity and creativity. The courier project is an example of this type of effort. It will be evaluated for use in future offerings, but we have no plans to build such a device at this time,” said Frank Shaw, Microsoft’s Spokesperson.

New strategy like “Windows Everywhere” mark as the Courier’s end, it let us glimpsed into Microsoft’s Darwinian approach to new product launches and development, however, it refuses to recognize the protection of its old product franchises. According to reports, Microsoft finally decided to cancel Courier because it didn’t clearly alight with the company’s Windows and Office franchises and it can be expected within a few weeks.

The team of the Courier had estimated 130 Microsoft employees working shoulder to shoulder and dedicated to non stop contribution to it. A member of the Courier team also said, “There was extensive work done on the business, the technology and the experience. It was very complete, not a whim.”
